MOSSY

Y’all are probably sick of me always wearing green, but it’s so hard not to wear! I literally just gravitate to it! I promise that you all will see more looks of me styling other colors soon. This padded shoulder knit from Mango is so stunning, however, I probably should’ve gotten a medium. As you can see, the pads are not exactly on top of my shoulders, but it still looks fab! A little late to the “padded shoulder” trend but not mad at it; the structured shoulder definitely took this knit up a notch. To keep this look simple I styled it with these jeans from Paige Denim, and accessorized with these gorgeous zebra print boots from ASOS I snagged last year; paired with this moss green trench to add another layer of texture. The background set for this photo-shoot was created by using materials that I already had in my home, and overall it didn’t turn out too bad. How do you think the set came out? Or do you think I need to take my lazy butt back outside to take my photos? Let me know in the comments below! xoxo

HEALING

Green is one of my favorite colors. It truly makes me smile whenever I wear this shade (almost in a therapeutic way). The color represents numerous things, but for me I associate it with healing, protection, and peace. It is also said to provide mental & physical relaxation and treats depression; while also giving a sense of renewal, self-control and harmony. All of the things that I’ve been struggling with these last couple of months. Recently, I lost one of the loves of my life, a sibling, my older brother. It’s truly heart-wrenching to write this but I hope it will aid in healing me and perhaps someone else. It’s so painful to walk this earth knowing a piece of you is gone, but his soul lives on forever. I don’t believe I will ever truly recover, but at least I can try to continue with a brave face. My brother loved fashion just like me, and always dressed truly for himself. So, when I get dressed, I ask myself, “How would he elevate this look?” He will always be the flyest person to me. Everything seemed so trivial when he left this earthly plane and I wanted to give up on everything, but I know he would want me to continue with my dreams and be happy, so I can’t disappoint him. We will forever miss, love and honor him. I love you Baby J.

MEADOW

The concept was "Little House on the Prairie" meets fashion campaign. My vision for this look were woodsy fields, wild hair, bold eyes and a setting sun. Before my idea developed, I found this sheer polka dot dress in Zara a couple of months ago. Sheer clothing isn't what I usually gravitate to, but I was really drawn to this piece for its frilly shape toward the bottom an the red polka dots. At first I wasn't quite sure how I was going to style it, but I wanted it in my closet. To keep the red polka dots the main focus, I added a nude dress that closely matched with the material for a seamless look. For a bit of edge my leather boots were the perfect fit, which added to the balance between hard and soft in this shoot. Overall, I feel my vision came out better than I imagined.
