fun fashion

I truly create my outfits based off my mood or vibe and honestly, I really appreciate different style aesthetics. Not saying I would wear them all, but I can pull off quite a few! Individuality is key. For me, my personal style is all about having fun and feeling confident. With my numerous style layers I am just trying to explore, which I feel in turn helps me better understand myself. The base of this look was this Frame denim jumpsuit but I jazzed it up with this fur hat via Etsy (designer IG @jacketsbynatasha), gold jewelry and my favorite suede clogs from XOCOI via Farfetch (favorite purchase of 2022, seriously). I love a deep purple and I just don’t see it enough on clothes or shoes, so I’m on the hunt for more! Accessories are key to bring an outfit to life and I love when they add texture as well, giving depth to a look. Are accessories necessary for your outfits? How do you have fun with your style?

GARDEN PARTY

Although it is not as formal or as bright as typical garden party attire, this is my interpretation of a serene "garden party" look. Even in its simplicity, it still exudes elegance. Earth-tone pieces are a favorite of mine, especially when detailed designs are added to highlight the piece in order to keep it from looking dull or flat. This tie-knot dress was no exception; it's an item that looks just as good on the hanger as it does on the female form. Bringing subtle shapes and curves to my slim frame, the knot gives the illusion of a smaller waist. To spice up my look I added these dazzling, geometric earrings, which are a statement piece in and of themselves, and my blood orange mules. This look was inspired by my experience in this garden space, as well as gardens throughout my life. Serenity. Safety. Solitude. I've always loved gardens. Their vibrancy. Their tranquility. Everyone that I have ever observed tend to their garden, did it with such love and care. A subtle lesson of how we should treat ourselves and others. Since turning 25 a couple of months ago, I've been experiencing consistent inner peace more than ever; these captured moments are an external reflection of my current inner being.

TONALITY

“Color-blocking is the use of contrasting blocks or panels of solid colors”.

Color-blocking is a style trend that is timeless. Though it is not for everyone, it is a great way to be innovative with your style. You can color-block by creating a monochromatic look (one color throughout look but in different hues), a separates look (mix garments of contrasting colors) or a stand-alone look (one color-blocked garment or accessory). This look would fall into the separates category, since all of my pieces are contrasting colors. This wrap-tie ruffled blouse has been seen on all the cool gals this summer, but I still adore this gorgeous piece. Paired with my olive trouser pants from way back when, the stand out for me of course are the blood orange mules from Public Desire. I absolutely love these shoes; they were a must buy for my obsession with mules, which have been my staple for the summer (quick slip on, no fuss). So, if you are not sure about color-blocking head to toe just yet or color at all for that matter, I would suggest adding vibrant accent pieces to your look to experiment with first.
