wild side

My girl Normani said “I’m ready to pull up on you, I’m ready to do what I do. Baby, what you wanna do?” Although her context was a little different than mine (lol) the line is thorough for my motto this year! It’s a call out to myself to step out more on faith in what I want in this life and also to start living on the wild side of my style with body confidence. To be honest, I have not been motivated to get dressed during this loooong pandemic but no more. I am ready to explore all things that exist on the other side of restraint in all facets of my life. How do you speak to your inner wild side through style? xoxo

CORDUROY

Slight chaos is all I’ve known these past few months; which had left me uninspired to get dressed. So, I’ve lived in nothing but sweatpants and hoodies. However, I’ve been trying to get back on track by turning to fashion or styling which is very therapeutic for me. Wintertime is all about comfort and coziness; no material speaks cozy like corduroy. It’s always been a material I’ve loved mixing with other textures. For this look I paired two corduroy pieces of different colors: The Calvin Klein jacket, a steal from Goodwill; seamlessly juxtaposes the Zara pants I found for eight bucks. My trusty Dooney and Bourke purse is a thrifted gem I've had since high school that I find complements almost any look. An you can’t have a winter outfit without a comfy oversized turtleneck, for a sophisticated touch. I completed this ensemble by adding my grey suede boots. With all the disarray going on in my personal life, I’ve been trying to balance it out by creating polished looks; and I’ve been digging it.
