wifey material

Two months late on this post! But better late than never, right? Wow! So many exciting things and I’ve just been basking in it honestly. My birthday was back in April and it was one for the books; I got engaged to the love of my life omg!! We were in Belize, on the island of San Pedro with my family; beautiful country by the way and definitely will be back since it holds a special place in my heart now. It’s a day I knew would come since we’ve been locked in since college lol, but I just wasn’t expecting it. Girl, imagine a chaotic scream. That was me when he got on one knee! Pure joy and happiness is the mood right now and I’m so excited to continue our journey of love.

Now on to this birthday look, which centered around this skirt and top from a black woman-owned London based brand called Gbemi. The trip was the perfect opportunity to snag some of their pieces as I had been following them for some time and loved their bold and colorful designs. Nothing screams clear skies, beach and tropical weather than this look! The color palette and floral design just gave what it needed to. Craftmanship and detail were **chef’s kiss*, which convinced me to be a continued supporter. When you find small independent brands creating fresh and new designs that are affordable, snag them up ma’am! You know I had to accessorize, which tied the whole look together! On the feet are the infamous Steve Madden Versace dupes, Zara earrings and sequin bag from ASOS. Yummy is how I felt on my bday, okayyy! The extra bling bling on my finger didn’t hurt either. Definitely challenging myself to post more summer content and not be slack! How is your summer going so far? What are your plans? xoxo

The beautiful quote that the “imagination is the only weapon in the war with reality” is attributed to the infamous Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland. Since my last post, my life has been a bit topsy turvy (in a good way) and I’ve truly been escaping reality in my mind. We are still in this panasonic, but I’m making due with our current reality by simultaneously building and dreaming up beautiful new ones, which helps to keep me sane. I am planning to move to a new city, which is a huge change, but something that will help me to walk this path on which I am headed. Sometimes, the unknown is exciting! No longer will I hold on to things that do not bring me joy, shrink myself, or be afraid to take a risk. Currently, I am home for the holidays spending time with family and self-reflecting. More than anything, I am just excited for what’s to come in the new year. What are your plans for the year of 2022(222) and what realities will you create?
