CANDY STRIPER

Despite the headache of 2020, Christmas really did bring a bit of cheer if for only a day. So, here I am with my late Christmas post; atleast I’m being consistent! Not many good photos were taken (all blame falls on my bf but I’ll take partial responsibility lol), however, I adored my look! The vibe was a play on a modern day candy striper; the star of the show is none other than this gorgeousss candy red cardigan from & Other Stories, paired with these Boden checker pants. It was my first time purchasing from & Other Stories, but they did not disappoint! I have always been impressed with their knits that bloggers would feature in fashion hauls, and it’s definitely the place for cardigans with cute details like these gold hearts. Every time I buy a garment now it has to have an element of pizzazz, because it just gives that extra oomph, you know?

Was this look too much holiday cheer for you? If so let me know how you would’ve styled this cardigan below! *Sidenote: The highlight of my Christmas this year was finding this black Santa wrapping paper randomly at a Walmart, which I have never seen before, isn’t that crazy? I’m holding on to this wrapping paper till I find another or make my own. xoxo, J.

HOLIDAY PARTY

Who doesn’t love a good holiday party? One filled with food, drinks and of course the stylish guests! Even though I technically “worked” at the holiday party, it still was an enjoyable experience. One were I got to network with individuals in the fashion industry and witness all the dazzling party ensembles (which was totally my favorite part!). I currently intern at a personal styling company and helped with their annual Christmas party. My job was to “man the door” or check the guest list, which I was totally down for because I would get the chance to meet everyone who entered the party.

My outfit for the party was so last minute, only because an outfit I ordered online two weeks ago did not arrive on time! So, this outfit came together in a manner of three hours the night before the party. The golden satin dress was the standout of course, but I found it difficult to find the right pieces to pair with it; however, this steal of a velvet blazer I found in Macy’s helped structure the look and keep it formal. I accessorized with earrings and shoes I already had in my closet, due to time, but was pleased with how it came together. There is nothing like utilizing and revisiting items in your wardrobe when you least expect to. Despite this not being my first choice or ideal holiday party look, I received a few compliments during the party that made my night! Was there ever a time when you had to put together a last minute or rushed look? How did your look turn out?
